Cascade Peak uses the latest GIS (Geography Information System) technology from ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc.) to process and manage georeferenced data. The ArcView 8.2 suite, which includes ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcToolbox, is used to prepare geographic data for import into graphic design software.

MAPublisher 4.0 from Avenza Systems, Inc. is utilized to import georeferenced data into the graphic design environment. This allows data to retain its geographic qualities within graphic design software.

Graphic Design

FreeHand 10 from Macromedia allows Cascade Peak to work with geographic data in the graphic realm. The marriage of MAPublisher and FreeHand bring science and art together to create dazzling maps.

PDF

For cross-platform compatibility, PDF (Portable Document Format) is prefered. Acrobat 5.0 from Adobe is used to turn finished maps into documents that be read by any computer running the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. Additionally, clients with the full version of Acrobat can easily add comments using review and mark-up features to maps during the design process. The encryption and password features of Acrobat also prevent unauthorized changes to maps.

Cascade Peak also utilizes Photoshop 7.0 from Adobe for working with images, Illustrator 10 from Adobe for additional graphic design support, and Flash MX from Macromedia for creating Flash animations.

Internet service for Cascade Peak is provided by AT&T Broadband and runs at 1,500 kbps for fast data downloads. Webhosting and email are provided by Yahoo! Geocities. Telephone service is provided by AT&T Wireless, keeping staff connected everywhere. 1-888 service is provided by Freedom Voice. Online payment service is provided by Authorize.Net and Wells Fargo.
